The Rebels won on the third ball of the last over after Staggy Creek ended on 7/121. For Staggy, Mick Kenny was 45 not out and Tom Lavender hit 32 runs. Tony Blake took 2/19. The Rebels finished at 3/122. Dave Mudaliar remained 49 not out, Shaun Rynne hit 28 runs and Mick Kenny took 1/17.
At Varley Oval, Royal Rats accounted for Aussies with a total of 4/131. Greg Wilkins knocked up 41 and Vaughan Gallen remained undefeated on 25. In reply Aussies could muster only 80 runs, with Rowan Burt snaring 5/9 and Bobby Russell 2/14.
The second game at Varley Oval saw Staggy Creek take down the Aussies, who batted first and were all out for 82. In reply Staggy Creek cruised home at 3/84, but there are no individual details available.
The final match at McCosker 2 saw the Royal Rats take on the Rebels. Rats won the toss and batted first, and they chalked up a competitive 4/108. S Leonard 42 and Lachie Binnie 27 were their best with bat. Matt Reynolds and Shaun Rynne were best with the ball for Rebels.
The Rebels methodically reeled in the runs, but not before some anxious moments before they won a close contest with 4/111.
Rynne scored 39 and Brendon Campbell 32, but it was the towering six by Charlie Gardner that was the winning shot.
In B grade, Invincibles 1 lived up to their name with a solid win over Tingha. Invincibles 1 took to the crease first and tallied 5/100 off their 20 overs. Mike Gould scored 38 and Tim Torgau 29. Corey Livermore captured 2/11. Tingha fell short with 87 runs. Les Connors scored 22 while Mike Williams claimed 4/13.
Invincibles 2 met Square and Compass (S&C) in game two. S&C managed 4/104 after Eric Higgins top scored with 21. However, Invincibles 2 were too strong and finished at 8/105. Joe Smith and Liam Spalding claimed two wickets each.
Invincibles 1 (4/169) were also too strong for S&C (4/166) in the following game. For Invincibles Mike Gould scored 68 and for S&C Eric Higgins scored 45 and Joe Smith 43. Jesse Williams took 2/35.
In the final game of the round Tingha 8/178, Warren Williams 59, and Ben Hobday four wickets defeated Invincibles 2 128. Corey Livermore took 4/14.
