Trainer's Pokedex:
Hey, keen young trainer in the red cap with your heart set on being a master! Visited Professor Oak's laboratory lately? He knows everything need to know everything about your quest: "Help: What's Pokemon Go?"
How to play:
You're not alone on your journey. There are a bunch of other trainers out to catch the best Pokemon around:
A word from Officer Jenny
Officer Jenny has been working with local police and has reported back with a few rules for trainers:
"You may not see them straight away, but they are there, Pokemon could be right behind that tree or inside that shop, all you need to do is look… but is ‘looking’ safe?
"‘Pokemon Go’ is a game using the GPS feature of iOS and Android mobile phones, and involves hunting for Pokemon in physical locations. We love Pokemon Go because it encourages getting to know your neighbourhood and physical activity, but it doesn’t mean you are safe or that others will know what you are doing."
How can you hunt safely:
- Be considerate of others. It is never okay to invade someone else’s space, it could be against the law.
- Communicate with your family, let them know where you plan on going and what time you will expect to be home.
- ‘I was collecting Pokemon’ is not a legal defence against a charge of trespass, so be sure that you have permission to enter an area or building.
- If you are using the app in a public place, stay alert to what is going on around you, and who is around you.
- Switch off the app whilst driving. If you are driving a car then your responsibility to drive safely comes first. You have an obligation to other road users to drive with care and attention. ‘A Pokemon appeared right in front of me’ is not the answer you want to give to a Police Officer if you cause an accident.
- Remember always, have fun, enjoy the challenge and stay safe.
