Numbers average around six in the group of gun court stars, but regular players have put the call out for local seniors interested in playing a round.
Alwyn Cann is the man at the helm.
“It’s not a competition, it’s just a social club, but we play every Wednesday afternoon,” he said.
“The oldest fellow is 86. I’m 78 and we can still play pretty good.
“They are all pretty fair players down there.
Alwyn said the weekly meet is a chance for the players to keep fit and active and invited interested local players to join the club, priced at $80, and try their skills on the court.
“I was a tennis player for most of my life. I just went down started playing again and asked if I could join,” he said.
“We have some really excellent players.”
The group meet from 3pm on Wednesday afternoons. Interested players are encouraged to grab their racquet and join up.
