“It is not my truck – seriously,’’ he said, and to prove it, he jumped into the passenger seat of a car parked beside the dog truck.
I stress that classes go on. The students are attending revision classes.
- Year 12 year adviser Ian Ryan
The year 12 student at Macintyre High School was in town to try on his suit for Thursday night’s formal at the RSM Club.
Cody was wearing his jarmies because it’s year 12’s last week at school and well, why not?
Year 12 year adviser Ian Ryan said the students were spending the week revising for the higher school certificate exams coming up in October and they were raising funds for the School of St Judes in Tanzania by having a bit of fun.
After all, it was their last week of school after 13 years in the education system.
The students held a cake stall and auction of servants on Monday..
Various teachers bought student servants for an hour or so.
The students were put to work to make coffee or clean store rooms.
One teacher bought students so they would actually attend a revision class.
Other events include playing dodge ball against the teachers and the highly anticipated Miss Macintyre fashion spectacular.
Mr Ryan said he expected about $2000 would be raised.
The charity of choice was the School of St Jude in Tanzania because of its links to Inverell.
Holy Trinity student Gemma Sisia volunteered in Uganda after she had gained her Dip Ed at Armidale.
That experience eventually paved her way to Tanzania and to starting The School of St Jude.
it now has 1800 students and funds go towards supplying uniforms and board.
That’s why Cody was prepared to be photographed. So, if he had nothing to do with the dog truck – what was that all about?
It was a support truck for the charity Wings4Kidz’ Postie Bike Ride. The group was heading to Walcha on Tuesday.
Wings4Kidz raises funds to fly sick kids to hospitals so they don’t endure long road trips.
