Around 45 of the school’s best players took on the region. The girls A team took the top spot on the day, while the girls B team and 7/8 boys fought hard throughout.
“The Macintyre girls did a great job up against tough competition from Glen Innes, Tenterfield, Inverell High, Warialda, Moree and Emmaville,” teacher Peter Burgess said.
“It was great to see so many students keen to get involved and willing to train in the months prior.”
The boys team came within a point of first place in their section with a narrow 5-4 loss to overall winners Moree.
“Our boys got off to a few slow starts, which may have cost us, but the determination to battle back from behind and win nearly every game was a real show of character and willingness to give their best,” Burgess said.
He said all three teams put in great effort and reaped the rewards of their positive attitudes.
