At age 14, local Bec Banks remembers feeling lost and confused until a program called Youth Insearch helped turn her life around.

She said it took six months for her to agree to go along, but that she’s so glad she did.
“It’s a life-changing experience,” she said.
“I heard all these stories from all these kids around the place, and a lot of it was sad, but then there’s the leaders and they’ve been through all this crap and they’ve sorted their lives out.”
Youth Insearch runs weekend programs for 14-20 year olds from all walks of life, and aims to help youth reach their full potential.
Now a leader herself, Bec is hoping to reinvigorate Inverell’s involvement with the program, and would love to bring a group along to the next Tamworth event.
The group of leaders and youth support each other through crises, but also play games and have fun.
“We talk about all different things like bullying and grief and depression,” Bec said.
