Lisa Frost beat out her competitors in the open women’s category to take home the gold, while Michael Murphy came second in the open male division.
The juniors kept up the high results with Emma McInnes first in the girls and Damon Murphy third in the boys.
Club president Corey Borthwick was proud to see 10 members represent Inverell on the day. “We had the most amount of representatives from our club out of any other,” he said.
“To see that many of them end up on the podium was really good.” He was thrilled with Emma and Damon’s medals and said the club loved to nurture the younger members. Competitors travelled from Tamworth, Moree, Goondiwindi and Warwick to take part.
Inverell Triathlon Club runs local competitions every second Saturday from the town pool. For more information, visit Corey at Andersen’s Carpets.
