He will preach in Inverell at all three services for three consecutive Sundays from January 28.
“At the 2016 census 4693 people nominated Anglican as their religion. Rick is their bishop. So this is not an insignificant event for our parish and the broader community of Inverell to meet him and to hear him speak,” Rev Adam Draycott said.
“He’s being very generous to us.”
Rick grew up in the Sutherland Shire to the south of Sydney. Prior to training for the ministry he worked in the banking sector.
Before his consecration and installation as bishop in May 2012, Rick had served in parishes in Sydney and Canberra and was employed for a time by Evangelism Ministries in the Diocese of Sydney.
He is married to Janene and they have three adult children. While he loves to fish and is a passionate South Sydney supporter, his greater passions are to preach the gospel, to teach God’s word and to see people raised mature in Christ.
The parish of St Augustine’s looks forward to having Rick and Janene for this special privilege and extends a warm invitation to all to attend.
