Kicking off today, the competitive event will run through to Thursday. The event has previously been held in Inverell.
Players have travelled from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and from Newcastle up the coast, boasting over 80 competitors.
Juniors age groups start from 10s up to 16s and the rest have been pooled in the AMT opens category.
Official, Darren Nash, said the 10s will play a round-robin style while the rest take on a knockout with consolation.
“The AMT singles field is the biggest, particularly the men’s draw.”
Players have the opportunity to gain Australian ranking points throughout all events.
“We have some talented players on court, for example Brendan Moore who once ranked around 300,” Nash said.
Today’s weather was warm for all player who pushed through and battled hard from light til dark.
