A combined initiative of the Inverell Shire Council and BEST Employment Ltd, Platypus Paddlers is aimed at preschool-aged children.
Running at the Inverell Memorial Swimming Pool for seven weeks, the program begins with a compulsory free first aid class for parents and guardians on Wednesday, August 1.

This will be followed by six weekly 30-minute learn to swim lessons from Wednesday, August 8 – Wednesday, September 12.
Classes are taught by an accredited AustSwim female teacher, and all children will receive a Platypus Paddlers Swimsafe pack. Free bus travel will be made available for residents in Tingha and south Inverell.
Classes will also be available in term four at the Inverell and Ashford Pools.
