The Tamworth based lifesaver reached a milestone when he visited town last year, having taught CPR to over 20,000 students. Local mayor Paul Harmon opened a session to mark the occasion.
Mr McFarlane will visit Inverell Public School on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 24-25 next week to run a series of CPR workshops. He has a deep dedication to teaching the vital skill to youth, and hopes to one day see the program implemented into the NSW school curriculum.
The program has now been invited to Vietnam. Mr McFarlane will spend two weeks in the country this October, educating both students and teachers in a quest to tackle what he described as “horrific” drowning statistics.
