Local lady Denyelle Harris was determined to do her bit for farmers around the Inverell region after realising just how tough things were.
The idea of hosting a family-friendly, farmers fundraiser flourished.
Before long, Denyelle enlisted the help of the Gilgai Public Hall trust to hold the event on August 25.
“After seeing all the media coverage I thought ‘we need to do something to support our local farmers’ and now we need the community to head on out,” she said.
There will be raffles, market stalls, ice cream, a jumping castle, biscuit decorating, entertainment and much more from 9am until 4pm.

Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall will pop by during the day to show his support and organisers have invited Inverell Shire Council mayor Paul Harmon.
“We don’t really have a target amount, we just want to be able to support as many local families as possible who are struggling at the moment,” she said.
Working with Inverell’s Rural Outreach Centre, the funds will be distributed to assist farming families in the area.
Head on out to Gilgai hall on August 25 to support the local fundraiser and enjoy a family-friendly day out.
“We’re excited to see everyone who heads out on the Saturday. It should be a really fun day,” she said.
