Peter Ambrose Marquart was born on October 7, 1941 whilst the family resided at Stannifer, Peter was the fourth child of Raymond John and Florence Margaret (nee Cameron) Marquart.

Peter’s siblings were Rita (dec), Les, Ron, Des (dec) and Bruce (dec). The family lived at Stannifer for about five years where they had a large poultry farm then moved to Inverell to Medora Street in 1945.
Peter attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and left after second form. He had several jobs during his lifetime from station hand, droving, presser at the dry cleaners and stockman at the abattoirs.
Peter married Kay O’Brien in July 1966 and they had three children Susan, Tracey and Glen.
Peter was a skilled horseman in his earlier years – attending pony camp in his youth to polocrosse and tent pegging and picking up at rodeo’s for buck jumpers and bull doggers.
During the last three years Peter’s health declined with the onset of Diabetes and COPD and the associated ailments of these diseases which required several emergency visits to the hospital during this time.
For the last two years McLean Care has assisted with his housekeeping and he enjoyed their weekly visits and having a chat with them.
Peter passed on Friday, June 1 at his home in Raglan Street and was laid to rest at the new general lawn cemetery on Thursday, June 7 following a service at the Sapphire City Chapel.
Peter will be missed by his three children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren as well as other family and friends who had plenty of kind words to say on his passing.
