Dad was the result of a liaison between the manager of Newstead Station North (1892) and my grandmother, then named Agnes Kerr.
Dad was born at Inverell hospital in February 1893.
A male family member agreed to do a DNA test and allowed me to review the results but, I am not permitted to share it.
Therefore, the two main findings I have to go on one of which is the information Agnes shared with my Uncle Henry Kitching (by marriage to Jessie Dufty-my father's half sister).
Additionally, the DNA states a strong facial resemblance is genetically passed on.
This is true as my father's first son (from his first marriage) was almost his identical, and his son and then my brother was very similar.
On my last visit to Inverell I spent time at the Inverell Historical Society.
Although, they were extremely helpful I did not find what I am searching for.
What I need to find is a photo, it seems that A L Gillespie might be a match. His name was on the ledger information although, I need a clearer reference as to the month that he was working there.
If possible, I will organise a DNA test if it seems that I find a descendent. Unfortunately, it needs to be a male for the test.
Although, a photo of the manager from around April 1982 through to 1983 would be amazing. That is the first vital step to take.
My Grandmother Agnes later married James Dufty and they moved to Camspie Park, Warialda. Furthermore, I am related to some people from the Dufty family through Agnes (half aunt and uncles and their offspring).
It is unfortunate that I am not permitted to share my male relatives DNA on line as I finally found my husbands family after searching for 10 years. It took a couple of hours after I uploaded his DNA and then boom we found lovely family members living in Ireland, England and it was important to understand his genetically inherited health issues.
