An initiative of the Chamber of Commerce, the Festival of Christmas will provide the perfect opportunity for residents to do some late night shopping.
Both Vivian and Byron Streets will be blocked off to traffic and open for locals to roam the street stalls, marketers and grab an array of delicious food.
Chamber president Nicky Lavender said businesses were invited to register a pop-up shop to be set up along the street.
“We want a good collection of pop-up stores. People who have existing shops outside of Vivian and Byron Streets are encouraged to set up to benefit from the festival’s activities,” she said.
Setting the street market atmosphere will be the concert band and a few local singers. Bunnings Inverell will set up free kids craft and a jumping castle.
There will be a best dressed elf competition and the drawing of the spot the elf in the window competition.
“We have 36 businesses participating in the spot the elf this year. People can grab the clue sheets from Inverell Jewelers or our Facebook page to try and find the 36 elves situated around town.
“All elves are numbered and all of them must match the sheet to be in the running to win some amazing prizes,” she said.
The Festival of Christmas will be held on Friday, December 14 from 6pm until 8.30pm. For more information like ‘Festival of Christmas’ on Facebook.
