Want to know how to control invasive pests and weeds? You should consider joining Landcare or coming along to one of the great free events Gwymac Landcare has coming up.
You don't have to be a member to head along to the events but being a member will give you a great way of connecting to like-minded people in the area.
The first event will be a free Chilean Needle Grass Workshop on Friday May 10 at the Inverell Club.
On Tuesday, May 14 a free Indian Myna Bird Workshop will be held at the Inverell Community Garden.
Also a farming families succession planning will be held at the Inverell Club at $20 per person.
On Friday, May 17 a free weeds community afternnon will be held at 3 Mile Crossing, Ashford.
Then on Saturday, May 25 a Feral Cat and Indian Myna Control workshop will take place at Five Corners, Nullamanna.
Gwymac is a non-profit, community owned organisation that coordinates Landcare groups across the Macintyre and Gwydir Catchments and helps identify and prepare funding applications for landholders and community groups.
They also conduct field days, bus trips and workshops, liaise with landholders and experts, help foster and support friendships and values connections in rural communities and connect rural communities with current innovations and information in agriculture.
Gwymac membership costs just $25 per person per year. A number of their events are coming up around Inverell.
