Officers allege a premises in Opal Street, Tingha was broken into and a number of food items were stolen between March 12 and 13.
As a result of a police investigation, the 14-year-old was arrested and charged on April 22.
The youth was refused bail, as a possible flight risk and re-offender to appear before Inverell Children's Court today on April 23.
