One of the first orders of business will be selecting a new chair for the NSW Nationals, with current chair Bede Burke stepping down after the maximum five-year tenure.
Three candidates have put their hand up and the new chair should be known by mid-afternoon.
"Whoever is selected, I know the party will forge ahead with an excellent leader," Mr Burke said, who will still see out the conference as chair before handing over the reins.
Over the three day conference, almost 60 motions will be debated and voted upon, and if successful, will become apart of the party's policy platform.
Some of the controversial motions to be debated involve supporting nuclear power, declaring human activity is contributing to global warming and cancelling coal seam gas exploration licences when they expire.
The conference will also act as an unofficial celebration and send off for Senator John 'Wacka' Williams, who is stepping down after an 11-year career.
