The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was tasked on a primary mission to Tingha, south east of Inverell, to transport the 45-year-old.
Reports are the man suffered burns to his body after falling into a fire on a property. He was initially treated on scene by local ambulance paramedics.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service's critical care team took over when they landed at around 3am.
The man was transported by helicopter to Brisbane for specialist treatment but was reportedly in a stable condition at the time of flying.
The Royal Brisbane Hospital has a Professor Stuart Pegg Adult Burns Centre which is a major referral centre for QLD, NSW, NT and the Pacific Islands.
The centre has information for all matters regarding burns injuries as well as providing a 24 hour burn referrals service.
