The club celebrated the milestone in the presence of many former members of the club who enjoyed the reunion atmosphere and looked back at the clubs achievements and humorous social highlights.
Among the attendees were many people who have continued to contribute to the community long after they retired from active club membership,
Members in attendance ranged from Mike Lyne OAM who became a member of the service club 68 years ago in 1951 to Andrew Tucker who joined Apex this year.
Formalities of the evening included a toast to the club by life member and current Inverell Shire Mayor Paul Harmon with a reply by Bob Bensley who has demonstrated his continued citizenship in helping win the fight to for the current hospital improvements.
The changeover saw outgoing President Patrick Pordage present awards for service to John Monckton and Aaron Wilkinson was announced as club member of the year before, for the eightieth time, the club's charter was passed to the incoming president.
New President Alex Rainger declared that the club was confident it would continue the good work of the past years and provide an opportunity for members to assist the community while enjoying the friendships formed within the club.
Life member Bill Swan displayed some of his personal memorabilia from his Apex days and others shared stories of Apex activities that were sensibly never included in the official minute books.
In the spirit of past years, the evening concluded with a lesson to younger members in card table etiquette from Sean Taylor and Sargent-At-Arms Peter Savage closed the meeting with a demonstration of modern day traffic control to ensure all party goers returned home safely.
