The variety of birds on offer attracted the North West NSW Birdwatching Group to run a beginner birdwatch at Lake Inverell this month.

The participants enjoyed an easy stroll around Lake Inverell and spotted 37 species of birds in just two hours.
Spokesman for the group, Inverell's Colin Ritchie, said tbirdwatching was a great activity for people who enjoyed getting outdoors and experiencing nature.
In addition with the current drought conditions, several farmer attendees said that it was a great way to take a break from the drought and relax.
