Even Blasters on Saturday morning had less than favourable conditions for cricket.
In the Under 12's, Square and Compass won the toss against RSM. Fergus Roger, Howie Eastwood, Will Kentwell, Nico Alliston, Brigalow Wolfenden Woods and Nick Morelli all found the boundary with all these batters not out.
In the bowling Tom Taylor, Maisie Eastwood and Max McLennan all took valuable wickets. In reply, John Bailey, Kirby Fuller, Georgie Leonard and Charles Turnbull with a fantastic hook shot, managed to hit fours.
Eddie Grant and Oscar Monie were valuable run makers however S&C managed to kerb the runs and take wickets. Nico Alliston achieved the best figures of 2 for 8 off two overs and subsequently pocketed the match ball.
In the other match Josh Cathie chose to bat after winning the toss for Staggy Creek and managed to retire along with Rocco Eastwood, Henry Ballinger, Zac Riley and Evan Burgess.
Angus Norman was not out on 7 at the changeover. Angus and Zac hit two fantastic fours to the applause of the crowd.
Henry Oliver, Connor Bailey and Sam Burns claimed wickets with Ewan Wood and Barnaby Munro bowling exceptional overs for minimal runs in conditions that had the ball swinging all over the pitch.
Campbell and Freebairn's George Rattray and Noah Pay both were unbeaten in lengthy batting spells and Sam Burns hit his first 16 runs off just 8 balls.
Whilst Staggy's Angus Norman, Zac Riley and Evan Burgess all took wickets, plus a runout by Zac, it was not enough to stop the C&F attack of runs.
Sam Burns won the match ball.
