Sporting special jerseys commemorating Pay's playing career with Collingwood, Inverell's under-17s, women's and men's sides won their respective fixtures against the Tamworth Roosters and Tamworth Swans to claim the spoils.
The men's clash was a close tussle all game, the home side overcoming a 10-point deficit at the final break to snatch the win 11.11 (77) to 10.12 (72).
Rhyley Thom, Kyle Payne and Joshua Desborough all kicked two goals apiece for the Saints, who outscored the Swans three goals to none in the final term.
Saints president Jason Gobbert said the men were "to and fro" during the entire game, which went down to the wire in the final five minutes.
"The Tamworth Swans had a kick in the last few minutes to tie and they missed. The ball was down our end the whole time after that; they were pressing for a goal.
"Our boys drew on what the day was about and showed a bit of spirit to give them the push they needed to keep them out," he said.
In what was described as a hard-fought game, the Inverell Saints women also managed to dig deep and win over Tamworth.
Gobbert said the 13.14-92 to 3.11-29 win was resounding, however the score did not reflect the toughness of the game.
"It was brilliant to see the girls win," he said.
Saints U17s managed to bag the first win of the day for Inverell, after Inverell's U14s lost. Gobbert said scores were almost even at half-time.
"The Inverell boys kicked away at half-time and deserved the win." The final score in the U17's game was 17.12-114 to 8.15-63.
In the first match of the game, U14 Saints were brought down to earth by a skilled Tamworth side after coming off a good win last week.
"The coach has a fair bit of work to do with his young side this season," Gobbert said. A donation bucket at the gate was raising money to put towards the U14s development side in Pay's honour as he was passionate about the juniors.
Prior to the last and final game of the day kicking off, both sides had their men and women's teams line up on-field for a minute's silence.
Pay's family joined the Saints in the line up as the crowd stood silent to remember all of Kevin's contributions to the community, and in particular to the club.
The Kevin Pay Memorial Shield will be an annual event on the AFL calendar each year Tamworth and Inverell clash at home.
The jerseys will be brought for the special round.
