Green, who had rucked to King last TSLW season, was traded to Collingwood early in the AFLW draft period for pick 40 after her rookie year.
Former Kangaroos coach Scott Gowan, who became a victim of coronavirus-related financial cuts at the club, had been a supporter of Green.
But 165-game stalwart and new coach Darren Crocker has no plans to put King out for trade bait, shoring up her future at Arden Street.
"That would be good from North so to just work on my development," King said.
"I am really happy to be a part of the club."
While waiting to ink a new deal, King admits to a tinge of sadness of Green's departure following just the two games this year for the 23-year-old.
But she believes the TSLW premiership teammate will embrace the new surrounds.
"To be a first ruck and play a forward role I think that will be really good in her growth as a footballer. It will just be awesome to be able to see her development next year."
The concern surrounded issues with Green's knees.
The shake-ups continued with the delisting of former Blues twins, Libby and Chloe Haines, which has not been a good look either for the club's Tasmanian alliance.
Libby Haines will line up in defence against King in Saturday's TSLW clash since transferring to Glenorchy in the offseason just as Chloe has been left to rehabilitate from an ACL injury.
"Who knows? They could be picked up in the draft by another club," King said.
"They're also strong footballers and they'll continue to grow at TSLW footy."
The TSLW has also been credited for preparing the class Launceston midfielder to make the AFLW grade.
