An investigation is currently underway into the disappearance of eight head of cattle from a property on Skeleton Creek Road at Shannon Vale east of Glen Innes.

The Rural Crime Prevention Team from Inverell is seeking information regarding the cattle, which were noticed missing between August 12 and August 15.
Despite efforts to locate the cattle including an extensive muster and contact with all neighbours the cattle remain missing.
The mob is made up of six three-year-old Angus or Hereford Heifers which were heavy in calf and another two Angus or Poll Hereford steers of about 12 months old.
The Angus are black, or black and white in colour while the Poll Herefords are red and white.
All cattle have a lazy R shaped ear mark out of the point on the nearside ear. Some of the cattle have management tags also fitted to the nearside ear.
The steers are fitted with a NLIS Tag commencing with the Number NG251435.
Investigators are calling for anyone who may be able to assist by providing any information about any person who was seen acting suspiciously in or around Skeleton Creek Road or Shannon Vale Road at Shannon Vale around the dates in question to come forward.
Investigators are encouraging landowners to report all stock theft promptly.
