Following on from their 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show Team Penning win the Camilleri family (who own Inverell's Bakers Barn Saddlery) have done it again.
John, Elizabeth, and their daughter Natalie Camilleri, with Tori Campbell (John and Beth's niece) competed recently at K Ranch, Camden in Sydney in the Ranch Sorting National Championship of Australia competition.
This is part of a culmination of points for a years' worth of competing around the state for the Camilleri's.
The recent national competition had more than one thousand runs over the weekend and the family obtained the following results.

John Camilleri, riding Silver Spur Strike Me Lucky, won the Men's Highest Point overall trophy with : Masters 1st 2nd and 3rd (high point buckle) ; All levels 1st and fastest time; All levels 2nd and 9th; #8s 1st #10hc 1st #10hc 2nd.
Beth Camilleri, riding Silver Spur Dash of Sugar, achieved: Masters 3rd; All levels 6th ; All levels 4th and 9th; #8s 1st and 3rd (fastest time).
Natalie Camilleri, riding Silver Spur Bokie, won the Women's High Point Trophy with: #8 s 7th; All levels 1st 6th and 7th (fastest time); #8s 2nd and 3rd (fastest time).
Tori Campbell, riding Silver Spur Flash, achieved: All levels 7th Western heritage; 1st Beginners 8th; Beginners 3rd and 6th.
The cattle were rated for each class, toughest cattle for all level riders and softer cattle for the beginners.It was organized so that competitors had to rate their cattle which showed their skill in sorting their heard. Any person that can ride a horse can be competitive in RSNCA ranch sorting.
It was an exceptionally well organized show and they had a successful and joyful weekend in Sydney.
Enthusiasts say Ranch Sorting is one of the only sports in the equine world where everyone in the family can compete together. The competition is a timed event where you are rated in a 9 point rating system that is based on the statistical performance of your team's sequential sorting cattle.
It gives everyone the opportunity to compete, win and get recognition.
