"We held a community raffle a few months ago to coincide with the day and it raised $9000," organiser Mindy Davis explained.
"So we are ecstatic to say this event has raised over $15,000 for the Inverell Breast Cancer Support Group."
The day was hosted by Mindy and hubby Ben, who had a very personal reason driving them to support the Inverell group. Mindy was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in late 2019.
"The Inverell Breast Cancer Support Group provided immediate financial support upon hearing about my diagnosis," she explained.
"This was an extremely scary time for my family and this support eased the stress of paying for all the medical bills which included endless scans, tests and specialist appointments.
"I will be forever grateful for their immediate support and we wanted to do something so this wonderful group can continue supporting women like myself now and in the future."
"A special thankyou to our major sponsors on the day Cutmore Laymore Bricklaying and Printfresh. Also a special mention to Bindaree Beef, Lennon's Butchery and MacIntyre hot bread for donating all the food on the day. Eyelicious Eats who cater at the golf club were a great support also."
After the successful day, The Inverell Breast Cancer Support Group Charity Golf Day will be an annual event, held on the last Sunday of March each year.
