At around 11:10am on Sunday, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter critical care team responded to reports of an incident on the outskirts of the New England town.

Upon arrival, they treated a 54-year-old man for serious head injuries.
Local ambulance paramedics also attended the scene, and helped the helicopter critical care team prepare the man for transport.
He was then taken to the Gold Coast hospital and was reported to be in a serious condition upon arrival.
