Civil and Environmental services director Brett McInnes told councillors at the September general meeting that the Aquatic Centre Planning Planning Sunset Committee had moved to investigate changes to the plan, and what that would mean for council moving forward.
"In the July council meeting, we endorsed a feasibility study for the swimming pool and acknowledged to embark on the next stage with the functional and technical and design brief," he explained.

"It was indicated that one of the very first steps of that functional and technical design brief would be to review the design layout and concept plan."
He said earlier that morning the consultant, Mike King from the Otium Group, stepped the committee through that process and as a result, there are minor amendments to that concept plan which change the water components.
Mr King presented the design concept rationale and review through a Microsoft teams meeting.
"At this stage the committee is committing to have that further investigated and costed because we need to resolve that issue moving forward," Mr McInnes said.
There was also discussion around the staged construction of that aquatic centre.
He acknowledged that the pool would need to be closed for some time for the redevelopment to be carried out.
Currently, that time is expected to take 12 to 18 months.
"As the plan develops further we will be able to provide more information in regards to that."
