Inverell is a dynamic community! I want us to welcome diversity and utilise the skillset of our whole shire. We need to attract people here and make our shire the progressive powerhouse of the north. We must maintain the sound economic management of our Council, protecting our assets and growing the services Council has under management.
What do you think is the single most important issue facing the Inverell area?
Engaging community. Council needs to maintain and foster a system of community that cares for citizens as well as guiding them through societal challenges. Communities need strong and productive enterprises to provide security and resilience. Council needs to encourage and develop progressive opportunities to build our communities for the future.
What projects/developments do you intend to advocate for if elected as a councillor?
Projects that capitalise on renewable resources development. Projects that build our telecommunications systems better. Projects that support our agricultural systems. Finally, projects that provide economic opportunity for our community.
What expertise or attributes do you have which would help you in undertaking the role of councillor?
My finely-tuned communication skills are now sharpened following my first term on Council! I have always been a good communicator and I am quick to engage with relevant parties to understand the issue with clarity. I have a business sense and can share reason, being willing to reassess my opinion with new light.
I invite discussion and can strongly advocate on behalf of others with passion and flair!
