Cod season comes following the annual three-month breeding closure as well as a record number of recent Murray Cod stockings, which bolstered populations in NSW lakes and rivers after years of drought.
And as NSW opens up Reflections Holiday Park at Copeton Waters is excited to welcome back guests.
Manager Paul Irwin said now was a great time to visit with a full dam and the fishing at its absolute finest.
"We are going gangbusters here at the moment," Mr Irwin said. "People are re-booking their long-awaited holidays with us again. We are seeing lots of families, boating enthusiasts and people who just love to fish," he said. A recent fishing competition saw almost a hundred enthusiasts from casual family groups to the serious anglers.
Mr Irwin said there was nothing like waking up to the stillness of Copeton and enjoying the birdsong with a cuppa in hand.
