For those seeking a cultural connection, a course focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art will run Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9am-3pm from July 25.
Covering printmaking, painting, sculpture and cultural inspiration, the cost is free for students eligible for an exemption (details available through TAFE).
Teacher Stephanie Marshall is thrilled to have the chance to share her love for filmmaking in a free introductory film editing and production course. Mrs Marshall is a keen advocate for the industry, and is busy preparing for the North West Film Festival this September.
A ‘taster’ course looks to help kickstart potential Youtube hosts or even feature length film producers, and the class will have access to specialist film and audio equipment.
The first class is this Thursday, July 19, and Mrs Marshall hopes it will foster community engagement. The group will work on a project which invites a wide cross section of the community to share their thoughts on issues of importance to them.
