Police allege the altercation at the Empire Hotel turned physical and three men were hospitalised for various injuries, including one man who was allegedly stabbed in the neck. The case was mentioned in Inverell Local Court on Thursday where DPP solicitor, Luke Boenisch, requested time to prepare and serve a brief of evidence on the charges.
Sunderland did not appear in court and made no application for bail before it was formally refused by Magistrate Darryl Pearce. The case was adjourned to November.
