“I improved heaps the second day,” the Inverell Public School student said.
Playing 36 holes and walking 13 kilometres over two days in Sydney’s Camden Lakeside Golf Club, Reece took on several water hazards and pot hole sand bunkers – some up to 1.8 metres deep.
“I played extremely well considering the course was a lot more challenging than Inverell golf course,” he said.
Reece, who has been playing since he was just three or four years old, said he is keen to keep working on his putting skills.
Other regions, including Sydney west, east and north, the south coast, central coast and the Hunter played in teams of 6-12, while Reece played as an individual.
“I learnt a lot of new tips and tricks from the other players and made many new friends,” Reece said.
He thanked teacher Leonie Pettit for helping organise the trip and Inverell Public School for giving him the opportunity to participate in “such a great experience”.
