Post-doctoral Research Associate Rebecca Thistlethwaite from the University of Sydney’s Plant Breeding Institute, Narrabri and park ranger Nicola Brookhouse from Coonabarabran – will make part of the group of six from the Rotary district to make the return trip.
They both took part in the tour of the research facilities with the Ugandan delegation while they were here earlier this month.
Dr Thistlethwaite said one of the visiting Ugandans was an agricultural scientist with a particular interest in the work being carried out at the institute and the technology being used.
“We showed them some farm machinery and what we are doing in our wheat research trials,” Dr Thistlewaite said.
“Part of my visit will be talking about what we do at home and how the technology could help Ugandan agriculture in the future.”
