Over $6 million in funding has been promised to the Inverell Shire in the federal budget, released earlier this week.

Armajun Aboriginal Health Service will be one of the big winners, with $2.35 million allocated to the construction of a new centre.
To be built on a block of land next to the current service, the new building will include a pathology collection centre, a gym and a children's area.
The centre will cater to both in-house general practitioners and visiting specialists with a variety of treatment and consultation rooms, as well as staff offices.
There will also be community meeting spaces, counselling rooms and visitor parking. The building and amenities will be disability accessible.
New CCTV cameras will be installed along Otho Street and Captain Cook Drive following the allocation of $200,000 from the Safer Communities Fund.
The grant aims to help the Inverell Shire Council monitor crime hotspots.
"Inverell deserves the best security we can provide, and this funding will mean better surveillance to deter would-be criminals," member for New England Barnaby Joyce said.
Another $1.5 million has been set aside to upgrade the busy Tingha-Bundarra Road and Gwydir Highway intersection, with another $1.2 million given to the Inverell Shire Council for local roads.
The much anticipated $8.4 million Inverell Regional Livestock Exchange upgrade, which broke ground last November, drew $2.5 million from the Better Regions Fund (infrastructure projects stream), initially announced in 2018.
Construction is expected to reach completion midway through the year.
"When this dreadful drought finally breaks, the region's cattle and sheep producers will get back into production and the upgrade of the saleyards will be of great benefit," Mr Joyce said.
Originally built in 1961, the upgrade will modernise the saleyards, and is expected to lead to up an increase of up to 25 per cent in cattle numbers.
The plans include 240 new soft floor selling pens, expanded selling and feeding areas and a 24 hour drive through truck-wash facility, as well as new offices and amenities for agents and buyers.
Mr Joyce said the budget aims to support regional development through infrastructure and community services funding.
