Last year Mr Marshall wrote to Premier Gladys Berejiklian seeking her support for the worthwhile project.

"Girl Guides Australia plays an important role in empowering young women to be confident and responsible community members," Mr Marshall said.

"In order to promote and foster a sense of pride in the Inverell Girl Guides, efforts are underway repaint the outside of the hall on Campbell Street.

"Before painting can take place a number of repairs are on the external faade, including improvements to existing weatherboards and eaves.

"Once this work is completed Macintyre Lions have generously offered to paint the hall, with the paint to be donated by a local retailer.

"Aside from guiding, the hall hosts a number of other community events throughout the year, including youth discos, so it will be pleasing to see the building looking its absolute best next time a function is held."

Inverell Guides District Co-ordinator Beth Hamilton said the renovation would assist the organisation to grow.

"Girl Guides offers a unique experience in a safe, welcoming girl-only space, and that's exactly the impression we want new members to have when they first step into the hall," Ms Hamilton said.

"We have around 30 people involved in Inverell Girl Guides, all of whom work hard to better the community. I am hopeful a lick of paint will brighten the outside of the hall up a bit and help us promote the great work guides do.

"We would also love to be able to attract other groups to use our hall for functions and meetings, with any additional funds raised from hall hire assisting with improvements to our other facility.

"I thank Adam and the Premier with assisting us to get the first stage of this project off the ground."
