A man has come away with serious injuries after a horse riding accident in Glen Innes on the weekend.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter team have said the 64-year-old had fallen from a horse on a Glen Innes property, which left him with damaged eyes and a head injury.

At about 7.40pm on Sunday, the Westpac Chopper crew flew to the site, and alongside local ambulance paramedics, their Critical Care Team stabilised him.
He was then transferred to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
