A MAN will face court charged with assault, following a violent incident earlier this week.

Following reports of a disturbance, police attended a car park on Captain Cook Drive at about 8.30pm on Monday, where they located a 20-year-old Inverell man arguing with others.
The man was arrested, taken to Inverell Police Station, and subsequently charged with two counts of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in the Inverell Local Court.
In a separate incident, Tingha Police arrested a 28-year-old Tingha man at about 5.40pm on Wednesday, following an incident at the Tingha Sport and Recreation Club on August 14.
The man was charged with malicious damage and entering enclosed lands.
He was also charged with damaging a police cell while in custody.
The man was refused bail and will attend Inverell Local Court at a later date.
