With emcee Peter Caddey leading the way, there were six junior acts followed by 14 senior acts with a wide variety of performers.
The Junior Winner was Wallangra’s Geoff McCosker, who played guitar and sang I See Fire.
From the remaining 14 acts, five were selected to win $200 each and selecting the best five was an extremely difficult choice for the judges.
Judge Di Hall has just returned from taking a party of 160 which included a concert band and a choir on a tour of Europe which received standing ovations in Europe.
Jim Haynes, the other judge, is a well-known Australian celebrity. They were very impressed with the talent on display.
Those five winners were The Best of Us, a band who played their own composition, Benita McElhinney who played piano and sang, Wind Beneath My Wings, Emma Dykes who played guitar and sang her own composition, Man About The House, Josh Cunningham who performed Music of the Night, and the Craze Dance Academy who danced Papaouta.
The overall winner who collected $1000 was Josh Cunningham and he was obviously a very popular winner with the very enthusiastic audience.
After the judges had deliberated and made their decisions, Jim Haynes entertained the crowd with his ukulele, his singing, his stories and his humour.
The audience loved him, and judging by the reception, it was easy to see why he is such a successful and popular entertainer.
The other juniors who were successful in the auditions and performed on the night were Craze Dance, Jade Randall, Charly Thorpe, the trio of Dawn Cooper, Tegan Craig and Hannah Yeoman and Shelby McKay.
Other senior contenstants on stage were Olivia Fowke, Sarah Turner, ‘King Double’ Bailey and Andrew King, Clare Mead, Craze Dance, Breanna Krauss, Jordon Cox, Eloise Collins, and Brendan Evans.
The Inverell East Rotary Club would like to sincerely thank all the sponsors and the people of Inverell who every year come to the Town Hall to support our local talent and enjoy a great evening’s entertainment.
More photos can be found on the club’s web site, and the members offered congratulations to all the performers and especially the winners.
