He was 65 years old, the son of Evelyn and Geoffrey Dufty now both deceased.
One of five children, David was number four. All other siblings except Cheryl are deceased. John passed away in 1956, Harold in 1996 and Diane in 2007.
When he was 8 years old, he had a very serious fall from a horse, resulting in a year long rehabilitation in Sydney, with Mum by his side for most of the time.
David worked in Brisbane with State Rail, was also a courier and later returned to Inverell to work at the abattoirs, and lived at home with his parents.
David was also a companion and carer to his parents as well.
Acknowledgments:
His family would like to acknowledge the Palliative Care nurses, Dianne Dewberry, Jodie Lennon and Kirsty for their caring devotion to David.
Also, the nursing staff of Ward Seven at the Inverell District Hospital.
And lastly, Reverend Jean Bell of the Uniting Church, and the resident Chef Bill who were all very caring and welcoming to David.
Please accept my apologies for anyone I may have forgotten.
