AFL North West: The Grand Final podcast Ep Nine | Mega gallery

The AFL North West is done and dusted for another season and six AFL sides gave the competition a cracking sendoff on Saturday in Inverell.

While the home club couldn’t quite capture a treble of victories on the day, they went oh so close by claiming two titles on a wet Varley Oval track.

The juniors went up first with the Saints finding their best to topple Moree before the ladies took to the field.

The Tamworth Kangaroos went up against Inverell in the mud and it was the Roos who came out on top.

Finally, in the men’s game, the Saints took on the Gunnedah Bulldogs.

Unfortunately for Namoi Valley Independent journalist Billy Jupp, his Dogs went down but it was a sensational win for Inverell, their first triumph since 2010.

Jupp and his co-host Ben Jaffrey caught up after the grand final on Saturday to discuss the day’s events.
