The annual event, held at Holy Trinity School, saw more than 100 competitors travel from all over NSW and Queensland, filling each division from the under fives, right through to veterans.
Of these, 50 local competitors from the Jin Ryu Kan team competed in the 40 divisions, taking out an impressive 28 first places.
Seeding points were up for grabs in both the kata and full-contact fighting divisions at the annual competition, held in Inverell for the 16th time.
Inverell mayor Paul Harmon opened the tournament, while Josh Blair and his local cultural dancers performed and Anya King put on a spectacular opening dance piece during the official opening.
Jin Ryu Kan Martial Arts Sensei Nick King said they were even lucky enough to have some of the Australian team representatives competing in the country championships event in Inverell. The Australian team competed at the world championships in Japan earlier this year.
King said overall it was a "highly successful day".
"A massive thank you to all of the local and out of town coaches and teams for supporting the event," he said.
"Thank you to Inverell Mayor Paul Harmon for the official opening.
"Thank you to Josh Blair and his local cultural dancers. Thank you to my daughter Anya King for her amazing opening dance piece.
"Thank you to the local VRA for all of their help with running the canteen and first aid. Thank you to all of my black belts, table officials and referees / judges for their help.
"Thank you to my family for all of their assistance with helping organising and throughout the day.
"And finally, a massive thank you to all of the local businesses who sponsored the event."
A number of spectators came along to watch the championships for a gold coin donation. All money raised through the spectactors' donation will be handed over to the local Fierce Female Farmers group to help with drought relief for farmers doing it tough around the Inverell district.
