The Inverell Golf Club Championship rounds started last weekend with the Clubs Four-Ball-Best-Ball mixed Championship. A strong field of 22 teams competed on the day.

Kerry Nicholson combined with Dave Ryan to take out the championship with 46 points. Kerry finished with an individual score of 34 and Dave with 41 points.
Next best in the 4-ball were Geoff Caban and Sue Urquhart, Lorna Smith and Gordon Dean, Ian Jeffery and Brodie Smith and Trudi Tonkin and Bob Albinus all with 43 points.
The scratch event was taken out by the team of Ian Jeffery and Brodie Smith with a winning score of 74.
A single stableford was held in conjunction with the 4-ball. Trudi Tonkin was the ladies winner with 37 points. She was followed by Sue Urquhart, 35, and Kerry Nicholson and Di Shadlow with 34 points.
Ian Jeffery, playing off a daily handicap of 10, had a very good round to take out the men's single stableford with 42 points.
He won in a countback with Tom Skipper. Tristan Irwin and Dave Ryan finished with 41 points to be the first of the ball winners. They were followed by Kevin Clark and Billy Blyth with 40 points.
The individual men's and women's Club Championships also start this month after a delay due to COVID19 restrictions.
The ladies will be playing theirs Wednesday's July 15, 22 and 29. The men will play theirs over two weekends July 25 and 26 and August 1 and 2.
The much-anticipated qualifying round of the men's four-ball Marquart Jug will be held July 18.
