A THREE-SESSION workshop is coming to Inverell to equip parents and carers with the knowledge to teach two to 12- year-olds skills to manage difficult behaviour.

The 1-2-3 Magic and Emotion Parenting Course is run by a Parentshop licensed practitioner, and the Inverell Family and Youth Support Service (IFYSS).
Jacinta Marsh from IFYSS is fully qualified and said: “These are easy-to-use techniques that parents and carers can use to help children develop self-control and respond flexibly to frustrations and upsets”.
Over the three sessions, parents and carers will learn how to discipline without arguing, yelling or smacking, how to handle challenging and testing behaviours, use emotion coaching to encourage good behaviour and seven tactics for encouraging good behaviour. Attendees will also receive a 1-2-3 Magic and Emotion Coaching Parent Workbook.
