A number of people were gathered at a Plieffer Place residence at 3.45pm. Most were consuming alcohol.
Police allege the Inverell teenager arrived, armed with a stick, before engaging in an argument with a 43-year-old man.
The younger man allegedly struck the 43-year-old across the face with the stick, rendering him unconscious before leaving the scene.
The injured man was taken to the Inverell Hospital. He was later transferred to John Hunter Hospital for surgery with suspected multiple fractures to the jaw.
Police interviewed a number of witnesses at the scene.
At approximately 4.20pm, police located the 19-year-old at an Angel Avenue residence. He was arrested and returned to the Inverell Police Station.
The teenager was charged with intent to commit indictable offence, recklessly cause grevious bodily harm and intimidate police.
He was bail refused to Moree on Tuesday, June 12. He was then bail refused to appear at Inverell Local Court on July 26.
