Punters and fashionistas were joined by those just looking for a good time, and none left disappointed.
Words of praise abounded for the spectacularly green race track - kept in tip top shape by tenacious groundsmen.
And despite a dismal looking weather forecast, the rain and thunderstorms held off while all the action took place.

The main race, The Tingha Cup, was taken by Liberty Head ridden by Jacob Golden, who beat Tingha's favourite Yvette Lewis riding Folkstone by the skin of their teeth.
Other wins and presentations proved emotional for some residents hailing fromright across the Shire.
